ANNOUNCEMENT:

We are going on hiatus after we get the last two issues of NN out (pending). J.D. and Justin are currently in the process of moving, and work on these issues will resume in August 2021.

If you have submitted to NN recently, we are suspending our multiple submission rule due to the anticipated delay in response time: Please feel free to send your work to other markets!

If your work has been previously selected for FF and has not been published, we haven't forgotten, and it will still be published!  We appreciate your patience during this time of transition.

  • Monthly issue submissions are CLOSED

  • Flying Fox Flash submissions are CLOSED

Novel Noctule is an online, monthly independent fiction magazine dedicated to the horror genre; we use horror to shed light on the human condition. Issues contain two or three original stories, poetry, artwork, creator spotlights, and related works of terror. Our stories are often categorized in  the new weird genre.

We publish at the end of each month, and we are currently accepting submissions on a rolling basis!

JACQUELINE DYRE is the editor-in-chief and publisher of Novel Noctule. An activist and literary horror-lover, J.D. received their B.A. in English, creative writing from Adelphi University and an MLS from Queens College in 2020. You can find them in the sunshine state, drinking poorly-made coffee and consuming psychological horror in lieu of meals.
