Novel Noctule is an online, monthly independent fiction magazine dedicated to the horror genre; we use horror to shed light on the human condition. Issues contain two or three original stories, poetry, artwork, creator spotlights, and related works of terror. Our stories are often categorized in the new weird genre.
We publish on the 28th of each month, and we are currently accepting submissions on a rolling basis!

STAFF

JACQUELINE DYRE is the editor-in-chief and publisher of Novel Noctule. An activist and literary horror-lover, J.D. received their B.A. in English, creative writing from Adelphi University and an MLS from Queens College in 2020. You can find them in the sunshine state, drinking poorly-made coffee and consuming psychological horror in lieu of meals.

SHEENA ESTHER is the assistant editor at Novel Noctule. She earned her B.A. in English with a concentration in Multicultural Literature from Long Island’s SUNY Old Westbury. Reader of all things creepy and crawly, she is a spunky literary force to be reckoned with. When she’s not being startled by ghosts and passing shadows, she’s a practicing yogi and zumba addict.

ERICA CIKO CAMPBELL is the Flying Fox Flash editor at Novel Noctule. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Utica College and works as a freelance writer. She's a proud member of the Horror Writers Association, and the only things that can distract her from writing are video games and dogs. Presently, her main focus is Tales of a Starless Aeon, her Gothic Space Opera novel series. She’s an absolute sucker for antihero stories and unreliable narrators.
